Tsukiji Market (築地市場, Tsukiji Shijō), formerly known as the Tokyo fish market is the world’s largest seafood market and definitely a must-see when visiting Japans megapolis – sooner better than later, because it will soon be closed forever.
Sheep are quiet animals, spending the hole day grazing on the meadow or on the dike. And look how fat they are. If I would be so fat, I would definitely just spend the whole day grazing too. There’s nothing to do, isn’t it? What else can a sheep do all day?
Live and let live – Vienna is the city of comfort. Somehow the people of Austria’s capital city seem to be more relaxed, more easy-going than the Germans for example. They seem to have realized what makes life worth living. Above all: hearty meals, good coffee, rich green gardens and impressive buildings.
You can recognize a tourist from almost hundreds of meters away. But how is this possible? Is it the behavior of a tourist? The clothes? Is it even getting worse when they open their mouth? And even more important: Am I one of them? Here is a list of things that show that you are a typical tourist.
The Holi Festival is currently on everyone’s lips. And all the colours even more. Whether in Cape Town, Berlin or Sydney – all over the world young party-goers come together to dance to thumping electro beats while throwing coloured powder at each other. Imagine this party series has now even made it to India.
Rain, wind and heavy fog can mess up the most beautiful city. When autumn arrives, the weather in Berlin adjusts to the color of the concrete buildings and Hamburg is suddenly no longer called Germany’s nicest city.
On the island of Sylt it’s a bit different. Here, it’s also cold and windy and the barren landscape disappears in uniform grey. Nevertheless, you somehow have the impression that the weather is exactly as it should be. In a strange way the uncomfortable season fits this island in northern Germany.
In recent years, Tel Aviv became one of the trendiest places in the world. However, the Mediterranean city is much more than just hip. It symbolizes freedom and pluralism like no other place in Israel and surprises first time visitors with an incredible variety of attributes. When I think of South Tyrol, I think of majestic mountain ranges, lush green meadows and chamois on the slopes. I think of fresh mountain air, stinky cow dung and blossoming edelweiss. When I think of South Tyrol, what comes to my mind is sweet Kaiserschmarrn and a hearty snack of bread and cold cuts. And of course fresh milk directly supplied by local farmers and Forst, a local beer that tastes best every day, because you had to earn it first. When I think of South Tyrol, I think of Val Gardena, a strip of land that has a lot to offer, what makes life worth living.
